1. Let’s Just Be Honest Here
I’m honestly a bit tired of hearing only about the benefits of the carnivore diet for women over 40. Yes, they’re great, improved digestion, fewer cravings, more energy. But come on… do you really want to tell me that no influencer out there started the carnivore diet for vanity, and then discovered the health perks along the way?
This is my real carnivore transformation story as a woman over 40, and it didn’t start for the “right reasons.”
2. The Moment It Hit Me
Every marriage has a pivotal moment when either you approach your husband, or he approaches you with a firm request for change. Whether it’s your exercise routine, eating habits, or even that time-consuming new hobby. We’ve all heard the stories: husbands falling for their golf buddies, or wives running off with a gym coach.
For us, that moment came when we arrived in Dubai. The stress of the past six months had me ballooned like I was pregnant (with twins!), and I noticed that Andrew wasn’t as attentive as usual. Then came The Talk.
3. Why I Started the Carnivore Diet (For Weight Loss in Midlife)
He wanted me to be more supportive of him by prioritising our health. He wanted us to exercise, eat, and live with purpose again, and in that moment, I realised this could define what our relationship looked like moving forward.
Let’s be clear: I’ve never had a reason to be insecure in my marriage. But at that point, I felt my 47 years… and I looked 55.
For me, the carnivore diet wasn’t about eliminating inflammation. It was about finding my spark again, and getting back into the clothes that no longer fit.
4. Vanity Made Me Do It (And That’s Okay)
I started looking around at the women who walk the streets of Dubai. The majority are beautiful and clearly well-maintained. They spend time on their appearances and physiques, and they make it look easy, even in this heat. Meanwhile, I felt like a melting cotton candy ball.
We’d tried the carnivore diet before, and since I hate eating salads and vegetables with a passion, it was a very logical step for me to go fully carnivore again. This time with a mindset shift, not guilt or restriction, but intention.
5. Starting the Carnivore Diet: My First Results
If I feel like I’m on a diet, I won’t stick to it, and I couldn’t take any more negative self-talk. So, I didn’t restrict my intake, just my ingredient list. I kept it simple and minimal.
That worked well, especially since we’d moved into a new, unfurnished apartment. I only had an air fryer and one pan. Perfect for minimal cooking and maximum results.
And the results? Despite all the carnivore health benefits, what mattered most to me: I started to lose weight quickly. Andrew noticed. I noticed. That changed everything.
6. Unexpected Emotional Wins
I didn’t expect the confidence boost I got so quickly. Sure, the number on the scale moved, but even more than that, I felt capable again.
Not bloated. Not tired. Not invisible.
The simplicity of the carnivore lifestyle was exactly what I needed during this messy midlife season, minimal decisions, maximum energy. No counting calories. No guilt.
7. Carnivore Diet for Women Over 40: What You Need to Know

- Just start.
- Don’t focus on anything else but the day ahead of you. Time will pass anyway, you might as well let it pass with progress.
- Dairy & processed meats may slow your journey, but enjoy them as weekend treats.
