Still Looking for Our Perfect Cup

I will be honest with you. We have not found a coffee here in Dubai that fully replaces our favourite from South Africa. That taste profile is something we genuinely miss. But this one comes closer than anything else we have tried, and that is why it stays in our kitchen.

Andrew and I are serious about our coffee. We love a good filter coffee made in our drip machine. We tried the French press route and quickly gave that up. The problem with a French press is the grind that settles at the bottom of your cup. We just could not get along with that. A drip filter machine gives you a clean cup every time, and the bonus is you can make a large pot that sits and waits for you while you ease into your morning.

Why This Coffee Works for Us

We needed something that was not too bitter and not too strong. Finding that balance here took a while. So many coffees we tried were either too intense or had a harsh aftertaste that we did not enjoy. This Coffee Planet organic medium roast hits a gentler note. The tasting notes describe hazelnut with orange zest acidity and a lemongrass finish, and that medium roast profile is exactly what suits our palate.

The fact that it is 100% Arabica specialty coffee and certified organic matters too. Because we are intentional about what we put into our bodies, knowing the coffee is organic at a reasonable price point makes it an easy choice to keep buying.

It is not perfect. But it is our current favourite and that counts for a lot.
